My take on #Linsanity @JLin7

For the past week, the buzz I’ve been seeing on the WHOLE internet, especially in social medias, is nothing but Jeremy Lin (https://twitter.com/#!/JLin7). Especially after the Toronto game winning 3. I hear and read Lin this and that all over radio, TV, podcasts, Twitter, Facebook, Google…. #Linsanity as people call it. If you ask me, it’s #Lintastic.

While people compare it to Tim Tebow, a very successful Christian athlete, I would like to look at it from a different perspective. Cinderella or Linderella as it seems, this is ALL hands down a glimpse of GOD’s glory and sovereign will.

Here’s my take on it..

First of all, this kid is a genius, not just basketball IQ, I mean IQ! He graduated at Harvard, a very very prestigious Ivy League in which flocks of nerds sweat blood just to get in. Even though he was fantastic in college, averaging 30 points, Harvard doesn’t really produce NBA worthy players. And because he graduated from it, HE is not some dumb player who lost $154,000,000 (http://www.thepostgame.com/blog/dish/201202/allen-iverson-has-no-answer-financial-woes).

Even though he got to the NBA, he wasn’t drafted. Just picked up somewhere. I don’t know how. Waived by Golden State, a big city if you ask me. Waived by Houston, a not so bad of city as well. Then he went to New York, the BIGGEST city of all.

Let’s take a step back, the Knicks got Amare’, a top MVP caliber player. They were winning last season; but then Carmelo, another max contract player who is supposed to make it a better team, came and ruined everything. Carmelo is just short for CarmeLOSE. He’s too much of a self-centered player. So you have TWO top tier players with MAXIMUM contracts, TWO!!! Correct me if I’m wrong, shouldn’t they be winning? But they were not.. Then out of D’Antoni’s desperation, because both SUPER stars were out, Lin suited up. Then he destroyed every team he went against, made Steve Novak score 20 points. Not to take any thing away from Steve, but it was Jeremy who fed him the ball. Even Chandler, who is a defense specialist, got at least 20 points.

The BIGgest over night sensation as he has become, Lin attributes it all to one Person, the Lord Jesus Christ, Yahweh!!!

According to Matthew 23:12,

"For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted."

And this is exactly what Jeremy is, a very humble person. He knows very well how he can’t do anything without God. He had to sleep on a couch for crying out loud. And the testament that he shows is proof of this all.

My theory is, this guy is will rule over basketball for this decade. Just how Michael Jordan ruled the 90s, this Jeremy will be ruling this decade. The difference is, Jeremy has a BIG backing, The Lord Almighty. My confidence is in God, and this guy is His David.

See the Toronto game winning shot if you don’t believe it (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rR3NhE8fBs8).
